Fine collection of fairy tales by Karel Jaromír Erben (1811-1870), famous Czech writer, poet and translator, literary historian and collector of popular Czech songs and fairy tales, an important representative of Czech Romanticism.

Artuš or Arthur Scheiner (1863-1938), important Bohemian painter, decorative artist and illustrator, sought after for his precise gouache drawings, mainly in a Secessionist style. The artist began his career as an illustrator for the German satirical magazine Lustige Blätter and for other periodicals published in Germany, Austria and Hungary. From 1880 on, his drawings appeared in the Czech magazines Paleček, Švanda dudák, Zlatá Praha and Světozor (from 1897). He illustrated many authors including Božena Němcová, Karel Jaromír Erben and Hans Christian Andersen, as well as children’s comics [Kulihrášek] written by Marta Voleská and novels. A prolific artist, he also designed advertising postcards, posters, puppets and stage curtains.
