Hans Witte was born in 1944. He studied German Literature and Language at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen. From 1970 on he started to build a collection of historical books, mainly children and picture books. He has presented numerous exhibitions, talks and publications. In 1989 he founded his own private press with a strong interest in experimental typography.
