Third augmented edition (first published 1572). Fine early edition of an important text of the famed French physician Laurent Joubert (1529-1582), a student of Guillaume Rondelet. Personal physician to Catherine de Medici and King Henry III, he was “one of the most celebrated members of the medical faculty at Montpelier and served as chancellor of the faculty for many years” (Heirs of Hippocrates, p. 30).

Manuscript ownership inscription on title-page Bernh[ard] Rottendorff (1594-1671), physician in Münster, Humanist and author of several books.

Faint dampstaining to a few leaves. Generally a pleasing copy with interesting provenance.
