One volume of presentation text, 38 pp., (10) pp, with a preface by André Rouveyre and the table, 220 exact life-size facsimiles of autograph letters, notes, cards and calligrammes, each presented in a dated paper chemise. Linocut frontispiece-plate by Henri Matisse. Complete.
First edition, very rare.
One of less than 30 extant copies. The entire edition was pulped following a dispute with the heirs and the various persons interested in this correspondence and only a handful copies offered to the collaborators have survived.
Monumental unexpurgated facsimile edition, produced with extreme care, of the writer’s correspondence with his lover and muse Lou [Louise de Coligny-Châtillon] between 1914 and 1916. The poems contained in these letters were published separately in the same year, by the same publisher, under the title “Ombre de mon amour”.
A fine copy.
