Mouradja d’Ohsson (1740-1824), of Armenian descent, was born in Constantinople where he followed a career with the Swedish Legation, eventually becoming chargé d’affaires in Turkey. During this time he spent many years assembling the material for his celebrated Tableau of the Ottoman Empire (Tableau général de l’Empire Othoman, 1787-1820). The present work is a history of the “most remarkable dynasties” of the Near East.
A very good crisp copy.
